Week 1: Exploring the Foundations of Balance

Neurology & Cranial Nerves 1-4


In the first week, we'll dive into the fundamentals of neurology and its connection to movement and balance. Particular focus will be placed on cranial nerves 1-4 (Olfactory, Optic, Oculomotor, and Trochlear), understanding how they affect the brain’s interpretation of sensory input and body movement. You’ll learn specific yoga practices that target these nerves to improve proprioception, body awareness, and balance.


  • Introduction to basic neurological principles and their role in movement

  • Cranial nerves 1-4: how they influence vision, breath, and balance

  • Simple head and eye movement exercises to engage these nerves
